Hello everyone, hope your doing well!😊 Last weekend was by far one of the best days ever! It was something I wasn’t keen on at first due to my anxiety and my heightened sensitivity, but I’m so happy I went as it turned out to be a lot of fun!
Last Saturday, the little town I live in was hosting their yearly ‘Party in the Park’ which normally consists of live music, a beer tent, food and some fairground rides! I’m not much of a party-goer as being with lots of people and loud noise can be very overwhelming for me and the last time I went ( I was 11 at the time! ) I had a sensory overload. Despite all of my anxieties of it happening again, I was determined to go and just give it a try! So after having Lasagne for lunch ( which I made and was very impressed that I didn’t burn it!😂 ) Kieran and myself made our way into town.
When we got there we paid a small entry fee and were welcomed with tokens to watch the circus! Of course we had to watch so that was what we did first. There were some amazing, clever acts that left our minds buzzing with excitement and wonder!
Afterwards, we then made our way to get some drinks, food and also meet up with the rest of Kieran’s family. There was some amazing food, I particularly enjoyed the wood fired pizza and the candy floss!😊
After eating and being rained on, I really badly wanted to find a stall that would put glitter on my face ( as the thought of it made me super happy!!😄✨ ) After a while of searching, we finally did! I tried to convince Kieran but he wasn’t amused!😂 Once some of us were glitterized we then tried to win some prizes and eat more donuts! 🍩
Later on in the evening, we then listened to some of the bands. One of them being heavy metal ( Which was definitely an experience!😂 ) Surprisingly, I enjoyed it and coped with the noise pretty well.
I’m super happy that I went and gave it a chance. It got a bit too much for me towards the end so me and Kieran made a swift exit, but I’m pleased how well I coped with the rest of the day. All the people, all the noise. It really was one of the best weekends with some great people!
See you soon!
